How Long Does Lip Filler Last For?

Typically, Lips filled with Teoxane can last between 9-12 months. This is all dependent on the product used and the person, as each person's body metabolises the product differently.

What are the risks of having Lip Fillers?

One side effect is that you will likely have some bruising and swelling after the procedure. This is completely normal and something the vast majority of people experience. This will be fully discussed at your appointment, so you will be aware what to expect.

The most serious complication that can occur is what we call vascular occlusion. This occurs when filler is injected directly into a blood vessel around the lips. Thankfully this complication is incredibly rare (~1/1000) and also completely reversible, with treatment from Dr. Amy

How long does it take to recover from Lip Filler?

As a rule of thumb,leave two weeks before any big event! I think that's what most people are really wanting to know. Swelling usually settled within 48 hours, with bruising up to a week. Full filler integration can take up to 6 weeks.

Are Lip Fillers Painful? Does it Hurt?

Dr Amy applies a topical anaesthetic to the lips. We also have the option for an injectable ‘dental block’ to completely numb the lips.

In my own experience and having dealt with 1000s of clients, it’s often the anticipation of pain is a lot worse and people are usually pleasantly surprised!

Will I Swell or Bruise with Lip Fillers?

There is a high probability that you will. Swelling usually lasts around 48 hours and bruising 1 week. This is a normal part of the healing process. We recommend you plan your treatment for at least 2 weeks before any big event or holiday.

How long until I see the result from my Lip Filler?

Immediately! You will see the result straight away, although they will likely have a little swelling and bruising. Best results are seen from around 2 weeks.
